Introduction
People-Trak
HR software interfaces
are designed to either import or export employee information, depending on the
interface option selected. They can do this by reading or writing to a file or through a direct exchange with another
database using an ODBC connection. Please
refer to your specific interface documents for additional information.
Requirements
People-Trak installed and running correctly.
Administrative permissions to install and register files.
Knowledge of where People-Trak is installed.
If you do not know where People-Trak is installed
ask your IT professional for
assistance or call your People-Trak Representative.
Installation Process
Download the PaySetup.exe file and save it into the People-Trak directory on the server
where People-Trak has been installed.
Once downloaded, browse to the People-Trak directory and run paysetup.exe.
The installer is a self-extracting installer that does not prompt for a
directory so the installer MUST be saved in the People-Trak directory. The setup program,
once launched, will prompt you
through the remaining process.
Once the interface is installed on the server you will need to go to each
workstation, that will be running the interface, and browse out to the
People-Trak directory on the server and run the payclient.exe.
This will install interface files and
register the appropriate dll’s and ocx’s on the workstation.
If you do not know where People-Trak is installed or if you need assistance installing the interface please contact a
People-Trak representative at 1-800-273-3760.
Interface Initialization
Log into People-Trak then from the File Menu select Activities.
Select Payroll Interface. Click on the New Interface icon.
You will be prompted for the Password
and Interface Code. This will be provided by a People-Trak Representative.
Then enter your email address to send the interface
status and update information, and click OK.
You must refer to the payroll interface user guide for special considerations on
field descriptions, field mappings and instructions on running the interface.
Updating an Existing Interface
To update an existing interface browse to the People-Trak directory and run
updateinterface.exe. This will download and register the latest interface
files provided the interface was installed after 2/28/2011.
Once the interface files have been updated you will need to run the
payclient.exe on each workstation running the interface.
Ptpayint.dll: This is the primary file used in the interface.
Registration is required on both the server and the workstation running the
interface in order for the interface to work properly. To install this file on
the server you will need to run paysetup.exe. To install this file on a
workstation you will need run payclient.exe from the workstation.
Fileml61.ocx: This file is used by the interface to notify People-Trak
that your interface is running correctly or with errors. Registration is
required on both the server and the workstation running the interface in order
for the interface to work properly. To install this file on the server you will
need to run paysetup.exe.
To install this file on a workstation you can run either payclient.exe or
updated interface.exe
Ftp61.ocx: This file is used by the updateinterface.exe update your
interface. Registration is required on both the server and the workstation

TDI_BenEval.dll: This file is used by the interface to calculate values
stored within the People-Trak HR
Software. Registration is required on both the server and the workstation
running the interface in order for the interface to work properly. To install
this file on the server you will need to run
paysetup.exe. To
install this file on a workstation you can run either payclient.exe or updated
interface.exe
Payclient.exe: This file is used to register the interface files on the
individual worstations running the interface. Payclient.exe
requires the ptpayint.dll and all the other interface files, installed by
paysetup.exe, to be in the same People-Trak directory. Once this installer is ran,
on the workstation(s), you can then run the interface from that workstation.
Updateinterface.exe: This file is used to update your interface. It
requires the ftp61.ocx to be in the People-Trak directory and correctly
installed. Once this file is ran it will download the latest interface files and
rebuild the interface fields list.
This file is only used to schedule the interface run.
This allows you to schedule your interface to run unattended. This file and the
Intscheduler.ini are in the People-Trak directory and have been added to the
windows scheduler. Refer to the interface scheduler guide for more details.
