I have the best clients. Some I’ve been working with for as long as nine years. After a long business partnership, many have evolved from a professional business relationship, to more of a casual tone in our correspondence, and some even address me the same as my closest friends would. It’s the latter group that often gets me laughing.
Just last week one of these characters left me a message: “Yo! I need help with a report ASAP." Click… Left no name, no company name, no phone number. Of course I knew exactly who the funny guy was. I work with some of the best people out there, and always appreciate a good laugh. There are many advantages to having an assigned client base, the most fulfilling is our friendships we develop over time.
"People-Trak HR Software, Helps HR Shine!"
Recently a client asked if they could report off the salary grade information in their People-Trak HRIS to generate a salary report for their CFO. After reviewing the CFO’s request, I realized we could add more detail than my client was requesting. In the end we created a much more comprehensive report, including % grade progress, along with the Comp-ratio detail found on People-Trak’s salary statistics screen.
As a result of utilizing the additional fields, my client was able to create a report that represents all pay frequencies already available within their People-Trak HR software. It was great to provide their CFO this additional information, while elevating even more value in their HR Representative.
"A Better Solution"
While connected with a client over a WebEx meeting, I saw her daughter’s ballerina slipper on her desktop wall paper, along with one little hand, a pink tutu, part of her nose, and that was about all I could make out. She had quite a few files littering her desktop, and covering about 75% of her cute little ballerina.
After we laughed about the number of files that can accumulate on the desktop, I asked her what she used all of the spreadsheets for. About an hour later we had come up with a solution in People-Trak HRIS to maintain this data, and eliminate her need for tracking in Excel. Although some of the items she was tracking in Excel were very specific to her company, we were able to customize the user fields screen to meet her needs. Now she can pull the information out of People-Trak HR software with ease! Next time I WebEx with her, I’ll probably see a lot more of the photo that was once hidden!
"Audit Feature Thrills Client"
The other day I was talking to a customer who had just taken our differences class outlining the changes from version 7 to version 9. She expressed an interest in taking advantage of more of the HR software features People-Trak has to offer. So far, this had proven to be a difficult feat as management was still very paper oriented, not willing to assign additional resources for data entry, and was very resistant to change.
She told me she had come from an environment that used computer systems extensively, and it was quite a shock to her that she would have to pull them kicking and screaming into the 21st century. She said she was really happy that her HR Department had decided to get People-Trak HRIS and was looking forward to utilizing it even more in the future.
One of the areas she was particularly interested in was the audit feature. We discussed how she can store information on the changes made to data in People-Trak, and later retrieve the changes. I could hear the excitement in her voice once she realized she, at any time, could find out who made the change, what the prior value was and when it was changed. My client knew right away that this would be extremely helpful for her!
"Open Enrollment Process Saves Client Countless Hours"
I recently had a client call in curious about the open enrollment process in People-Trak HR Software. She was hoping to find an easy way to manage this process for her organization. In previous years, she was under the impression that she had to navigate from one employee to the next and manually move each plan to the History screen in order to enter their new benefits onto the current screen. I let her know that with the open enrollment process in People-Trak, it will move all of the plans for her. After explaining how to setup her Open Enrollment table and select her employee’s future enrollment, she decided to give it a try this year and would call me when she was ready.
A few days later, she let me know she was ready and we set an appointment. After reviewing her recent work and creating a backup, we ran the Update Open Enrollment process together. Less than a minute later, all of her plans were moved and she was done with her open enrollment. She was amazed at how fast everything was transferred and assured me that she would be going through this process every year from now on instead of updating her plans manually. This customer was very excited about how much time and work the open enrollment process in People-Trak HRIS saved her this year!
"A Renewed Sense of Confidence with People-Trak HRIS"
I recently called a client and discovered that she was concerned that People Trak HRIS would not be able to meet her needs. She had even given up on keeping the data current. Upon further inquiry, I discovered that as a new user, there was an education gap and she was unaware she could reach out for help in regards to use of the HR system. I was able to spend some time with her, walking her step by step in the process of building tables, attaching position numbers to employees and simple data entry.
We spoke about the training that People-Trak HR Software offers, and we also scheduled weekly one on one appointments to implement different pieces of the software to meet her needs. At the end of the call I could hear in her voice that she had a renewed sense of confidence in People Trak. I am looking forward to continuing her education and helping her get the most out of her People-Trak HRIS. It just goes to show that a little help really does go a long way.
