Our History

Technical Difference, Inc. is a privately held corporation and publishes People-Trak, a Human Resources Information System (HRIS or HRMS) for organizations with 10 to 5,000 employees.

Technical Difference, Inc. was founded in 1992 to address the need for a high-performance, fairly priced Human Resources software. The market responded and People-Trak has now become one of the most widely installed HR sofware products for small and midsize businesses.

People-Trak is used by private, government, and non-profit organizations of all sizes. The core product offers standard no-cost features that competitors cannot offer at any price. In addition, People-Trak provides powerful web-based features for ESS/MSS, Career Center, and Remote Access.

We provide HR professionals with the tools they need to do their job more effectively and more efficiently than they have in the past. Our goal has been to create a product and to offer services that are meaningful and to the point. You do not need to pay for services you will never use, and you don’t need a complex HR software product that is difficult to learn and nearly impossible to use. We believe that the correct solution is the solution that is appropriate for you.
